Atlantic City, once known as "America's Favorite Playground," was a resort town for United States presidents and for those living in New York City and Philadelphia. Everyone knows what big cities like Atlantic City and Las Vegas are known for: their gaming. If you are not a big gambler or trying to avoid gambling, there are many great things to do in Atlantic City without having to roll the dice. Atlantic City has really been "reinventing" itself-especially with its newest luxury hotels (The Borgata, The Water Club, The Chelsea) and its great shopping, dining endorsed by celebrity chefs, and spa options. Here is how to enjoy all of the great options Atlantic City has to offer!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shopping options at Atlantic City have expanded to include more "high-end high-lifestyle" stores and products. The Atlantic City Outlets has great stores such as Coach and BCBG. The Pier Shops at Caesars offers more luxury brands such as a Louis Vuitton store, a Burberry store, and a Bottega Veneta store. The Pier Shops also offer great dining such as Buddakan, Souzai, and The Continental Atlantic City.

  2. Step 2

Spa options are also countless at the many different hotels and casinos. My five recommendations include Harrah's Red Door Spa , Qua Baths and Spa at Caesar's, BlueMercury Apothecary and Resort Spa at the Tropicana's Quarter, Spa Toccare at the Borgata, and now the Immersion Spa at the Water Club (2008). All of these spas offer great "menus" with innovative and blissful treatments.

  3. Step 3

Atlantic City entertainment includes many big names in the music and acting industries. Past performers have included Celine Dion, Diana Ross, Carly Simon, Avril Lavigne, and Sheryl Crow. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will even be there in May 2009!

  4. Step 4

Enjoy your time in Atlantic City and make sure you plan ahead to enjoy all of the fun and exciting activities!

on 3/11/2009 Excellent article. As a former Philly resident and frequent traveler to AC, I can second your recomendations. As an enthusiast rooting for the rebirth of AC, I applaud your effort to make people aware of all the good things happening there. Thanks.
