Things You'll Need:
- 24" square tea towel
- 1/2 yd white fabric
- 6" square battenberg doily
- 1/2 yd of 3/8"w white ribbon
- Traching paper
- thread
- Two 3/4" dia.buttons

Step 1
Trace stocking pattern onto tracing paper, cut out. For each stocking, use pattern to cut two shapes each from fabric and towel.

Step 2
Cut doily in half diagonally Matching two raw edges and right sides, position one doily triangle between stocking front and back. Pin in place. Leaving top edges open, sew around stocking. Clip curves as necessary. Turn right side out, press.

Step 3
For stocking trim, cut a 1"x9 1/2" strip from towel. Matching right sides and short edges, sew short edges together, forming a loop. Turn right side out, press seam flat. Matching wrong sides and raw edges, fold trim in half;press. Matching right sides and raw edges, sew trim around top of stocking.

Step 4
Leaving top edges open and 3" open along one side for turning, stitch around stocking lining; clip curves as necessary.

Step 5
Matching right sides and top raw edges, insert stocking into lining; sew around top edge of stocking. Turn right side out' sew opening closed. Turn lining to inside of stocking.

Step 6
For hanger, cut a 9" length of ribbon. Cross ribbon 1" from ends, forming a loop. Sew button and ribbon loop to top of stocking a back seam.
