How to Remove Water Ring Stains on Fine Wood Furniture
Fine wood furniture adds to the beauty of your home. When cared for properly, wood furniture can easily be spared most stains. Heat and moisture are notorious for leaving white rings and stains on wood furniture. Polishing and cleaning the surface isn't likely to remove the stain because the stain is caused by moisture and heat absorbed into the wood. Dampen a cheesecloth with water and wring out excess moisture. Add three drops of ammonia to the damp cheesecloth.

Rub the diluted ammonia on the water ring stain on the wood furniture. Move the cheesecloth in a circular motion over the stain to draw out the stain.

Dry the table with a clean cotton cloth.

The clothing iron draws moisture stains out of the wood. Heat your clothing iron to the "Medium" heat setting. Cover any remaining water ring stain with a dry cotton cloth. Press the cloth with the iron for a few seconds at a time. Repeat this step to draw the remaining moisture stain out of the wood.

Wood polish helps protect the surface of your furniture. Polish your fine wood furniture with furniture polish, according to the package directions.

Tips & Warnings
Use mayonnaise to remove a water ring stain from your furniture. Rub the mayonnaise into the wood and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Wipe off the excess mayonnaise and buff the furniture to a shine.
A mixture of equal parts white toothpaste and baking soda can be used to gently remove water stains on furniture. Clean the mixture off with an appropriate wood cleaner after buffing it into the stain.
