There is a national "DO NOT CALL" registry managed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). By adding your home or cell numbers to the FTC's list, you should see a great decrease in the number of telemarketing calls you get.

The easiest way is to call toll free, 1-888-382-1222 It's quickest if you call from the phone you want added to the registry because then you don't need to provide as much information

Another option is to go to the website http://www.donotcall.gov and opt out from there. Which ever way you choose to do it -- you'll be glad you did!

The faster you do this, the faster you'll stop the calls!
Some organizations can still call you even if you are on the list.

Thanks for this article!If they call me while i'm having an ornery streak, I either place the phone up to the TV speaker and put a scary thing on or act interested until after they are done with their whole talk. I know it's mean and I don't do it anymore because they are only doing their jobs but they do tend to call at the worst times.
