To start out to make your own school book covers or for other books.You would need,brown paper bags.If they are small bags,then they would be for small books.To make larger book covers.You could use brown paper lawn bags.The lawn bags are cheap to buy and you can make many book covers from 1 bag and keep the bags for the year after when you need book covers or use them to put leaves in from your yard.

To make your book covers,first cut the lawn bag in half,because if you don't you would have a heavier book.and most of the leave bags have the store name on them.If using that part of the bag.Keep the store name up,so you will not be able to see the store name when the book is covered.get the book you would like to cover and put the book on one of the halves of the lawn bag.

Trace around the book with a pen or pencil and measure out an extra 3 to 4 inches so the book can fit inside the book cover ends and on the book sides measure out an extra 2 inches,again so the book cover ends can stay in place.After the book is traced,take the book off the cover and fold over on the lines you traced around the book.Slip 1 end of the book into 1 of the book cover sleeves,lay the book on the folded sides,then put the other end of the book in the other sleeve.

Now that your book cover is on the book,you can decorate it or keep it plain.
