   Writing for sites such as eHow is actually a great stepping stone for in your quest for making money from home. Many writers who start on eHow gain confidence and go on to build successful niche blogs and websites, which eventually brings in multiple income streams.

3. Join a direct sales company. Also known as home party plans, they are often thought of as a way for moms to earn extra money while connecting with other moms in a casual home setting. However, with the popularity of the internet and several direct sales companies doing business online; many direct sales consultants are building a great income online.
   
   Various direct sales companies offer everything from home decor to kitchenware, bath and body, products for children and more.

• A note about scams: When searching for work at home ideas it is really easy to fall for scams. Many people will tell you to never pay anyone to work at home.
