Step 1
Always use fresh COLD water to make good tea
For black and herb teas, use boiling water, but for green tea, heat just to the boiling point.
Pour the water over the tea bag.
Cover the cup to retain the heat.
For the best flavor, brewing time depends on the tea type. Brew 3 to 5 minutes for green teas and black teas; 4 to 6 minutes for herb teas and 6 minutes for wellness teas.
Squeeze the bag gently to release the last bit of flavor, then remove the bag. -
Step 2
Use a sweetener or honey and/or lemon. For black tea, milk can be used; cream is too heavy for most teas.
Usually green tea is served without milk, as well as most herb teas. -
Step 3
To make a really good iced tea
one quart
Pour 2 cups boiling water over 4 tea bags.
Steep for 4 to 6 minutes.
Remove the tea bags
If you like sweet tea, this is the time to add while the tea is hot. Sweeten to your taste.
Add 2 cups of cold water and refrigerate.
Serve over ice
You can add fresh fruit or mint as a garnish if you want.
If you like a stronger tea, you more tea bags.
But remember, iced tea tastes best if used within about 72 hours after brewing.

on 8/27/2009 Honey with hot or iced green tea is exquisite. If you make a batch of iced tea sweetened with sugar or honey, the tea will taste better after a day. This is caused by the chemical process of sucrose breaking down into fructose. Thanks for the tips!
