  • Oxalic acid-based powder cleaner
  • Sponge or plastic scrubbing pad

      Wet the rust stain.

      Sprinkle an oxalic acid-based cleaner on the rust stain. Scrub it with a sponge or plastic scrubbing pad, and the rust stain should come up pretty easily.

      Rinse the sponge out and wipe the cleaning solution away.

Tips & Warnings

  • The above procedures can also be used on stainless steel cook ware, to get rid of rust.

  • For a minute amount of rust you can start and finish the job with 400 to 600 grit sand paper.

  • Never use steel wool or abrasives on stainless steel.
