A cup of tea is best when it tastes like tea! Learn how to brew the perfect cup.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tea
  • Cup
  • Good water
  • Kettle
  • Cookies or pastries to serve with the tea
  1. Step 1

Start by picking a good tea. Quality tea bags are good, but the best tea is made with lose leaf teas.

  2. Step 2

A very important step that many people don't realize in making a good cup of tea is the water. Don't use tap water or any other water that doesn't taste good. If the water tastes bad by itself, it won't taste good once it is brewed with tea either. Use bottled or filtered water (a good filter is also important.)

  3. Step 3

Warm the tea pot or the cup you'll be using and pour the water just under the boiling point.

  4. Step 4

Make sure that you time the brewing well. Check to see the minutes required on the instructions and make sure you don't go over or your tea will end up bitter.

  5. Step 5

Lastly, to make your cup perfect, serve it properly. Get your nicest cup and teapot, and have your tea with some good crackers, cookies or cakes and of course, enjoy!

on 3/19/2009 I'm a tea drinker, I never drink coffee. You're right about how to make a good cup of tea. I've not seen this done often in the US, but it is common to make it this way in many other countries especially England and Russia. 5*
