Things You'll Need:
- a couple hairstyles to choose from
- bobby pins
- hair spray
- a comb and brush
- a friend for help and advice
-
Step 1
Decide what style you want for your hair. Page through magazines, or check out the styles and articles in the resource posted below (in the resource section of this article). Think about if you want an up do or to wear your hair down or part pulled up. Try a few different ways and make a decision.
-
Step 2
Gather supplies. Get your brush, comb, curling iron, flat iron, any clips or pins you may need, and your hair spray.
-
Step 3
Start with curls or the straightener. Even if you are doing an up do, do your curls or straightening to all your hair first. Section off your hair and start at the bottom and work your way up and out with your curls or straightening.
-
Step 4
Practice before the big night. Take an evening with a friend and practice your do. Try a few different options and see what looks best with your dress and the over all feel of the night.
-
Step 5
Finally, spray your finished product, and ta-da! You are ready for the night of your life!

on 3/16/2009 Wow, been 13 years since I went to a prom, we did each other's hair too, way cheaper and more fun! Thanks for the tips.

on 3/15/2009 This is a great article because you show how to do it at home rather than paying an expensive salon. We did this for my sister's wedding and all of the hair styles turned out great. 5 stars and a recommendation!
