Internet and my grandson's work

Did you know that your loofah sponge didn't come from the ocean? It's really considered to be a gourd. I didn't know that loofah sponges weren't sponges until my grandson gave them for gifts.
So hopefully you read my other article about how to grow a loofah sponge. Now you can learn how to harvest your organic loofah sponge.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Loofah plant

When you get ready to harvest your loofah it will look like this. It is after all considered to be in the gourd family.

  2. Step 2
    Peeling loofah

My grandson said to simply pick it and let it dry out until it looks like this. But don't let it lay in the shell to long or it will try to mold.

  3. Step 3
    Loofah and seeds

It's going to be hollow when it's completely dry. But save the seeds that fall out so you have more to plant next year.

  4. Step 4
    Loofah and basket

After you harvest your organic loofah you can take them to the local farmer market to sell or make gift baskets.

  5. Step 5
    Sugar scrub and loofah

Make a sugar scrub and put that in your gift basket along with loofah.
