Prepare Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Chicken nuggets are such a kid friendly food. If you are going to feed your kids chicken nuggets make them from scratch that way you will be aware of what is going into them and ensure the health of your family. Frozen chicken nuggets or nuggets from a fast food restaurant have so many fillers like wheat, corn, soy, saturated fats, and preservatives they will keep longer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3 1/2 cups corn flakes, crushed
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • small bowl for mixing
  • whisk
  • baking pan
  • ziplock bag
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. The chicken breast needs to be cut into nugget sized pieces. This can be done when the chicken breast is partly frozen or thawed. Be sure to use a sharp knife. Once the chicken is all cut set aside.

  2. Step 2

In a small bowl blend the egg and the milk together. Measure out the corn flakes and pour into a ziplock bag. Release all the air and seal shut. If a child is assisting this is the fun part for them. Place the bag on a flat surface. Let them roll a can or a rolling pin over the bag crushing the cornflakes. Take the cut chicken pieces and dip into the egg mixture. Place them into the bag of crushed corn flakes. Once all the chicken is in cornflakes shake the bag to thoroughly coat them.

  3. Step 3

Remove the coated chicken pieces and place in a baking pan. Bake for about 15 minutes. When the chicken nuggets are done serve them with ranch or bbq sauce. Or you can always make your own healthier dipping sauce.
