Cleaning the canvas of your camper is the best way to keep your camper in top condition.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Resolve Fabric cleaner
  • Scotch Guard Protective Spray.
  • A nice Day
  1. Step 1

There are several product on the market that will help you clean camper canvas. Check with your local camper supply store for these. But if you don't have a camper supply store the local Wal-mart might due for the supplies needed

  2. Step 2

Make sure that it is not an extremely hot day and try to keep the camper from direct sunlight. It's good to do the cleaning in a garage or shade. The type of cleaner used will depend on the type of canvas on the camper. The two main types are vinyl and cloth canvas

  3. Step 3

For vinyl camper canvas use a mild soap. Wash as you wash a car. Be sure to let it dry thoroughly. When the threads (stitching in the vinyl) are fully dry, rub clean bees wax over them. It will prevent leakage in these areas when it rains.

  4. Step 4

Cloth canvas is harder to do and can be done in the same way. Or a product like Resolve Carpet cleaner can be used for the more stained spots. When the canvas is fully dry. Spray the entire canvas inside and out with Scotch Guard Protective spray. This can be very expensive, but it will make the canvas water proof and protect it. Do not use bleach, it will destroy this type of canvas. It is also best to test the product your using in a small area where it will be unnoticeable.
