Pick Someone to Replace a Vinyl Pool Liner

Need to replace your in-ground pool liner? Here are some tips to consider when deciding who to choose to do the work for you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

As a pool professional and as someone who has worked for a company that replaces in-ground pool liners, I have more than a little experience in them. I have also done the installs myself.

  2. Step 2

Get a list of local places that replace liners, then pick up the phone and call. Ask some of these questions that will help you determine who is the right one.

  3. Step 3

Talk to someone in the sales department. They usually are much better at answering the questions and are familiar with the process. Does the company sub-contract the work out? Many companies do this and I do not recommend this. Work with someone who does the work in house. Does the company do many liner replacements? We did between 70 and 100 per year so we were pretty good at it.

  4. Step 4

Does the company give free estimates? Most will do this. Make sure to schedule it when you can be there. Watch the person sent out. Make sure he takes a lot of measurements because each pool is a little different and an inch or two off and it will not work. Talk to the person, do they sound like they know what they are talking about? Asking some of these questions will help you weed out the people you dont want working on your pool. You will get a variety of prices. I would recommend not immediatly going with the lowest. As the quote goes, "You get what you pay for".
