There are so many ways to make money in Second Life that one article simply can't cover them all. So what is Second Life? Well, for those of you who have never heard of it. Second Life is a virtual 3D world where users can connect and socialize with each other. And just like the real world Second life is filled with almost limitless opportunities to make real money, if you can dream it you can make it.

Step 1

First off just like with anything else you need to know your market and learn a little about the game. Second Life was created in 2003 as a virtual online 3D world where you can do almost anything. You are limited only by your own imagination. This is a world where you can do anything and be anything. And just like the real world there is a market for almost everything. But unlike the real world you don't have to have a lot of money upfront to start out.
Step 2

Next to be able to buy and sell you're going to need a paypal account. So if you don't already have one just go to paypal.com and sign up. All transactions in Second Life are made using Linden dollars which are then converted into American dollars. Five American dollars are worth approx. 1200.00 Linden dollars.
Step 3

Buy and Sell Land:
You might be shocked to hear this but some people have actually become millionaires buying and selling land in Second Life. In fact real life couple Ailin and Guntram Graef became Second Lifes first real life Millionaires. To be able to buy and sell land you are going to have to buy a premium membership which will cost you just under $10.00 a month. Otherwise you will just be leasing the land and that's not where the big money is.
Step 4

Create and Sell Content:
Creating and selling items such as clothing,jewelery,hair, makeup,and even houses can also be a big money maker. After all everyone wants their avatar to look it's best and live in the nicest house and have the best hair and most beautiful body that money can buy. Unlike the real world all of these things are much more affordable in Second Life.

There are several inworld tutorials which will get you started on making content in Second Life. But to be able to create the content that other members of Second Life will want to buy your going to need to be able to first make it. So in order to do that you're first going to need the right program, which is Photoshop. If you don't already have the program it can be quite easily purchased from Amazon for around $100.00 or less depending on which one you purchase.
Step 6

A couple of other ways that you can make money is to participate in affiliate programs. Just make sure that they are first legit, and sell information. Such as teaching classes and providing consulting services.
Step 7

Another thing to keep in mind is to look for unmet needs and fulfill them or maybe just take something and make it better. Starting a business or service in Second Life takes a lot less money than in the real world and you are only limited by your imagination.
