Things You'll Need:
- glass jars
- wide ribbons
- labels
- candies
-
Step 1
Because you want wedding favors to look the same, rather than saving jars you might be better off purchasing them. There are many wholesale sites online that sell small glass jars for less than $1 each, so take some time to shop. Because favors are small, you can typically opt for smaller items than mayonnaise jars or other ones you might get at home.
-
Step 2
If you can get enough used jars that are the same size from friends and family, you can certainly use those as cheap wedding favors. You'll need to remove the labels, so try a mixture of half vinegar and half water, or get some adhesive removal from your hardware store. Spray the mixture on the label, let it soak for a few minutes, and use a straight edge to peel off the label.
-
Step 3
Once your jars are ready, you should fill them with something decorative and preferably edible. Hershey's Kisses are always a favorite choice, but you can also shop at your bulk food store for other options. Colorful M&M's are good, or try Red Hots, an assortment of jelly beans, butter mints, or gum drops.

Step 4
To dress up your favors, wrap the neck of the jar with a beautiful and festive ribbon. You can also add a personalized label to the side or lid of the jar but this will add some cost to your cheap wedding favors! To add a personal note, consider instead printing out strips with a personal note and then punching a hole in the side of the strip and sliding it through the ribbon as you tie it to the neck of the jar.
