Step 1
Go out into the streets near ToonTown Central. Stay on Silly Street, Punchline Place and Loopy Lane, at first. Only approach Cogs that are Level 1, if you're a new Toon. If you're uncertain whether you can beat the Cog with your own gags, approach another Toon or contact your online friends to ask them for help. To do this, click the "Friends" icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Select your friend's name and click "Whisper." Type your message if the Toon is your True Friend, or click "Places" in the SpeedChat and select "Can you teleport to me?"

Move on to other areas in ToonTown, such as Daisy's Garden, Donald's Dock, Donald's Dreamland and Minnie's Melodyland, once you have gained the ability to battle level 2 Cogs and higher. Keep in mind that you must have a paid membership to Disney's ToonTown Online to visit these areas. See what types of gags the your friends are using and try to use different types of gags for your attack. Only use the blue gags, as the green ones are too high for that level Cog and will not gain you any experience. Work on increasing your Laff points. Begin working on ToonTasks that advance your Toon, and don't waste your time on "fun" ToonTasks.

Join with other Toons to defeat a level 1 Cog building. Select the Toon you'd like to join you and click on the blue circle with the white arrow in the lower left hand corner of his stats screen. If he doesn't have very many gags or his gags are all low level, consider passing that Toon up for someone who is more advanced. Try to choose at least one Toon that has Toon-Up gags. Make sure that you have at least two other Toons with you when you enter the elevator to go inside the Cog Building.

Check the Cog Radar in your Schticker Book to see which Cogs and Cog buildings are on a street before you go too far. Select "Cog Gallery," then click on the grey area to the left of each row of Cogs. This can help you to save time if you have ToonTasks to defeat certain Cogs.

Move on to the Cog HQ in each corner of Toontown when your Toon is becoming very advanced. Start working on your Cog disguises as soon as you can. When you have your Sellbot disguise, begin working on battling the Vice President. The move on to battle the C.F.O. in Cashbot HQ, the Chief Justice in the Lawbot HQ and the C.E.O. in Bossbot HQ. Always ensure that other advanced Toons are with you when you enter these major battles. Keep your low-level gag slots empty so that you will have more room for high-level gags.
