Step 1
Move to Los Angeles. It will be extremely hard to work in Hollywood if you do not live near there. The next step will be an important one. You MUST find a way to support yourself while living in the L.A., or you run the risk of running out of money and having to move back to your hometown. If you have to move back to your hometown, it will be extremely hard to get work in Hollywood.

Step 2
Become a model if possible. Many Hollywood singers and actresses started as models first. The money can be quite good while you are waiting for your first break. Not five foot nine... that is okay you can work in print work or as a model for conventions.
If you cannot get work as a model, than get a job as a waitress the money will be decent while you are waiting for your break. Or even better do both... These jobs make decent money while giving you the flexibility of a schedule that allows the freedom to work around upcoming auditions. Also find a roommate from roommates.com or craigslist, you need to find ways of keeping expenses down. There if some truth to the phrase "starving actress." -
Step 3
Keep auditioning and do not give up hope. Try to find an agent if you can... If you can do that, things will get a lot easier. It takes a lot of patience to wait for your first break. Many actors and actresses had to wait a while before they had their first big break. If you tire of trying to make it in Hollywood consider becoming a becoming a Vegas Lounge singer, Go Go girl, or Showgirl. It is easier to break in and the money can be fantastic!!!
