Things You'll Need:
- 2x4s
- Chicken Wire
- Staple Gun
-
Step 1
A good compost bin doesn't need to be fancy, but ideally it should have enough structure to hold the compost in and allow air to get in and out. A sealed container isn't a good idea. Chicken wire and a few boards usually do the trick
-
Step 2
Take a few 2x4s and cut them so you have 12 three foot long pieces. Using nails or screws assemble these into a box. I think the easyest way is to take 4 parts and make the square base, 4 more for the top edge, and us e the last 4 as the uprights connecting the two. You should now have a 3'x3'x3' compost bin.

Step 3
Now take the chicken wire and staple the edge to one of the upright sides. If you don't have a staple gun you can try hammering in the staples or getting small nails and bending them over the wire.
-
Step 4
Pull the wire tight towards the next side, and repeat the stapling. Do this for all four sides of the compost bin.
-
Step 5
Using the same process add chicken wire to the bottom. I woud suggest at least 2 or 3 layers if you plan on moving the compost bin around.
