Make a Perfect Dark Beer
Make a Perfect Dark Beer

Beer is the same as cooking. Creating your own beer could be a pleasing activity or even a hobby.

Beer comes in different colors. If you want it light, you simply dilute the beer with water, as water is the ingredient that makes your beer light. In the other hand, if you want it dark you brew it with more malt. You can fix a great dark beer choosing dark malts and hops, which you can buy at any brewery stores. What is malt?

The main element of beer is malt or malted barley, which contains unfermented malt sugar and starches. As much as sugar you add, the sweeter, your beer will taste. When sugar and starches fermented, we get alcohol or in another words carbohydrates. If you want the beer less alcoholic, you simply dilute it with more water, which in fact, beer is mainly water.

The key for brewing 2 gallon of dark beer is a big boiling pot, a glass jar, dark malt and hops and the following exact measurements:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Making sure to sanitize all the equipment you will use to bottle the bear, including caps before starting brewing. For the reason that bacteria is a live organism and it can ruin the beer in no time. However, you can avoid it very easily if you clean everything that get in contact with your beer. This way you can ensure that, you prevented any risk of contamination. As a sanitizer, you can use hot soapy water, rinse it and sanitize it with agent or bleach water.

  2. Step 2

Put five tablespoons of sugar with two cups of water and mix them together until the sugar completely dissolved.

  3. Step 3

Boil the mix of sugar and water for 5 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Point of view: The better the ingredients the better your beer, so choose quality products.

  5. Step 5

You can get dried yeast and liquid yeast. I would highly recommend the liquid yeast, as liquid yeast is pure and won’t change its taste during the process as dried yeast, leading to different and odd flavors.

  6. Step 6

Pour the mix of the sugar and water into the beer, stir it and mix it up evenly.

  7. Step 7

Taste it and see if you need to add one or more ingredient, as in regular cooking until you get the taste you desire.

  8. Step 8

    Bottle the beer.

  9. Step 9

For the best results, let the beer sit from two weeks to a month. Don’t rush it.

  10. Step 10

You want the beer to foam like a regular bought beer rather than a fizzling coke. So follow the exact instructions herein, will prevent your beer from being over carbonated.
