Step 1
Devise a new way to hold an Easter egg contest when you plan kids Easter party activities. Instead of hiding the eggs for the kids to find, give each child five plastic eggs in one color (or with a specific symbol if you run out of colors) and let them hide the Easter eggs in the garden or around your house. Have the adults look for the eggs-the child with the last egg found wins a prize.
-
Step 2
Choose alternative kids crafts to the traditional egg coloring. Plan kids Easter party activities like decorating plastic eggs with stickers, paint pens or opaque markers; creating spring flowers with tissue or crepe paper; using colorful pipe cleaners to form flowers, chicks or eggs or paper crafts like simple Origami.
-
Step 3
Serve Easter party snacks like garden "bugs." Slice bananas, join the slices with dabs of peanut butter and use pretzel sticks to form the antenna and legs. Wrap cocktail franks with crescent dough and bake at 375 degrees until golden brown (about 12 minutes), then use pretzel sticks to turn them into bugs, too. Let the children help you with these party ideas.
-
Step 4
Buy an assortment of stickers, pencils, small activity books, toys and treats at the dollar store and arrange them on a table like a store. Give each child ten play dollars to "buy" the items they'd like to put into their Easter gift baskets.
