Whether you're typing a comment on a blog or writing an article for Xomba, sometimes you want to make things look neater by making direct links instead of typing out the URL. Here's how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • URL
  • Ability to edit HTML
  1. Step 1

If you're writing on a blog, look for the HTML view. Both WordPress and Blogger have this ability. We'll explain what to do in a minute.

  2. Step 2

If you're leaving a comment, remember that some comment boxes allow for HTML and some don't. One that will often has a phrase on top that lists the "approved HTML tags." No sweat. You are only going to use one kind.

  3. Step 3

Add the HTML phrase to the line you want to link. Let's say that you put "For more information on this, you can check my blog." If you want to make "check my blog" the link, follow step 4.

  4. Step 4

eHow does not allow HTML in a post. So I have a photo here for you to follow. Click on the photo next to this step for easy instructions on how to finish the job. Basically, you just copy and paste.

  5. Step 5

If you do everything right, the link will show blue, and if you click it, it will open directly into your new page. It is easy, fast, and it looks a lot nicer than some ugly link. This is especially useful if you are posting an affiliate link and you don't want people to know (ahem, necessarily).
