Panic attacks can have a significant impact in your life. Attacks can range from mild to debilitating, they can make you feel self conscious and weary of going out in public. Help put an end to your panic attacks with these tips:

  1. Step 1

    END PANIC ATTACKS Tip #1 - RELAX
    Try and relax yourself. If possible lay down or at least sit down, close your eyes and begin taking slow deep breaths. Tell yourself that you are having a panic attack and that you can get through this. Continue to slowly and deeply. This type of breathing will help to relax your body and reverse the adrenaline rush you are experiencing.

  2. Step 2

    END PANIC ATTACKS Tip #2 - THINK POSITIVELY
    While in the middle of a panic attack yell inside your head "STOP". You aren't having a heart attack and you aren't going to die. Try and stop all negative thinking. Thinking negatively can cause your panic attack to go on and on. Get all negative thoughts out of your mind. Stop beating yourself up.

  3. Step 3

    END PANIC ATTACKS Tip #3 - FIND THE TRIGGER
    Finding out sets your panic attacks off is key to predicting when they will occur. Knowing when you are putting yourself in a potential situation that causes you panic attacks will help you prepare for them. You can do this by following calming yourself with deep slow breathing and eliminating all negative thoughts.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid caffeine and nicotine. Stimulants can increase the likely hood of a panic attack occurring.
  • Get a good nights sleep. Panic attacks are less likely to happen if you are well rested.
  • If you suffer from debilitating panic attacks seek medical help.
