Instructions

    • 1

Heat water in a large pot. Do not let the water get to the boiling point, this will melt the straps. The goal is to have the water just hot enough to make the straps malleable.

    • 2

Place the vinyl straps in the water for two minutes. Do not leave them in the pot longer than this. It is acceptable to curve the straps to fit them all in the pan. Remove them with tongs and dry them off with a towel.

    • 3

Begin wrapping the vinyl straps around the chair frame. Start at the back of the chair. Take your first strap and lay it across the frame. Loop the end around the frame and secure it with the tab slot. Go to the other side and repeat this process.

    • 4

Finish wrapping the straps around the chair frame. Repeat step 3 until all of the straps are on the chair. You can decide how far apart you want the straps to be, but generally, they should be more no more than an inch apart to prevent pinching when someone sits on them. If the straps loose their malleability before you are done, reheat them in water, dry them off and continue until the chair is done.
