Things You'll Need:
- Some Will power
-
Step 1
Drink filtered water.
Water will naturally detoxify your body and a good filter will purify the water so contaminants are not seeping into your body. Still, if you are worried about your quality of water. Buy filtered or natural water from you local store, but CHECK where its bottled. The area might be worse than where you are right now. -
Step 2
Eat Fruit and Vegetables
At least double the amount of recommended servings the FDA suggests. Also eat a diverse array of fruit and vegetable. Berries, apples, citrus, green leafy vegetables and melons are all great and provide needed antioxidants and nutrients. -
Step 3
Avoid White flour
Any grain that goes through a lot of processing needs to be avoided. Its bad for your body. Go with whole grain, or multi grain. Trust me it tastes better and over time you will forget about the white stuff. -
Step 4
Avoid White Sugar
Same problem as with flour, too much processing is bad for our bodies. Stick with brown sugar or cane sugar, or honey is a great tasting alternative. Likewise, eventually you will grow to like brown sugar much better than white. -
Step 5
Substitute spices for salt.
Garlic, basil, rosemary, pepper, etc. have been shown to have numerous benefits for our bodies, while an excess of salt can be detrimental to our health. You can still have some salt on your food, but limit how much and how often. -
Step 6
No more fast food.
Fast food basically flies in the face of everything I've said here. Now on occasion if you really want it go for it, but don't make it a habit. Treat it like a rare once in a blue moon endeavor. -
Step 7
Avoid Alcoholic beverages
Beer, hard alcohol, even wine can add tons of calories, chemical, and weight to our bodies. Again if you want to treat it like fast food, I can't stop you, but bear in mind whatever goes in our bodies has a tendency to stay around for a while. However, some people have argued that wine has powerful antioxidants in it that helps our bodies a great deal. If you want to drink an occasional glass of wine that may be permitted, but don't over indulge.
