Things You'll Need:
- Cranberry Juice
- Uva ursi capsules
- Dried goldenrod
- Oregon graperoot tincture
- Fresh or dried corn silk
-
Step 1
Drink cranberry juice to get rid of a bladder infection. This is the tried and true remedy that you're always prescribed for bladder infections, and rightly so. Cranberries prevent bacteria which cause infection from adhering to the bladder and urethra. If the bacteria can't stick, they'll be washed out naturally. Drink at least 1 ¼ cups cranberry juice per day, while suffering from a bladder infection.
-
Step 2
Take uva ursi capsules to get rid of a bladder infection. This shrub has long been used to treat bladder infections. It contains arbutin, a compound that fights bacteria and soothes irritation. Take up to nine 500 milligram capsules per day, until symptoms subside.
-
Step 3
Drink goldenrod tea to get rid of a bladder infection. Endorsed by Germany's Commission E (the American equivalent of the FDA) to treat bladder infections, goldenrod was also chosen by Herbs of Choice as one of the safest and most effective herbs to get rid of a bladder infection. Steep one teaspoon dried herb in one cup of boiling water for 10-15 minutes, strain, and drink 2-3 cups per day.
-
Step 4
Take Oregon graperoot tincture to get rid of a bladder infection. Oregon graperoot contains berberine, a compound that kills bacteria and prevents it from adhering to the bladder lining. Take one teaspoon three times per day to get rid of a bladder infection.
-
Step 5
Drink corn silk tea, made from the fresh or dried herb, to get rid of a bladder infection. Corn silk is easy to obtain fresh in the summer, but can be purchased dried, if necessary. Steep one teaspoon dried corn silk (or two teaspoons fresh) in one cup of boiling water for 10-15 minutes, strain, and drink 2-3 cups per day to get rid of a bladder infection.
