Does your cat make it embarrassing to invite friends over for an evening. Just remember this, if you can smell cat urine, then anyone inside your home can too. You have probably either gotten used to the odor if you cat has a problem or just ignore it. This is a simple home remedy that will remove the odor from your carpet and furniture and hopefully make your cats less likely to continue their behavior.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

mix together three cups water and one cup vinegar, then add the liquid to spray bottle.

  2. Step 2

Spray the area thoroughly with the mixture, and let it stand for about 5 minutes.

  3. Step 3

now spray the entire area with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Let this stand on there for another 5 minutes. You might want to spray a small area first to make sure the peroxide will not ruin the color of your furniture or carpet.

  4. Step 4

now sprinkle baking soda over the entire area and allow to dry thoroughly.

  5. Step 5

Once dry, you can vacuum up the baking soda.
