Tips and strategies for the popular new flash game Death vs. Monstars.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An internet connection
  • A good mouse
  1. Step 1

Get a good mouse. A touch pad or a "nub" just won't do it. You need to have maximum mobility to play at your best in Death vs. Monstars.

  2. Step 2

Play through the first few "training" levels of Death vs. Monstars until you get the hang of it. Some people find this game very easy, others find it difficult. The first few levels are a good way to mass up some gold for later on and figure out the controls. See if you can get through levels 1 and 2 without getting hit.

  3. Step 3

After you've figured out the basics, it is time to get some complex strategies down. Number one: Do not abuse "bullet time." It is best to know how to play without relying on it. If you rely on it, you will run out and die often. The same goes with the berserk special, although it is much more useful than "bullet time" later on in Death vs. Monstars.

  4. Step 4

The most important strategy to learn for the later levels of Death vs. Monstars is strafing. Early in the game, rapidly moving around while aiming all over the place is useful for fighting a large number of highly mobile enemies. Later in the game, enemies start being less mobile and clump together. Your obstacle becomes avoiding bullets. So run from the bullets by holding down the left mouse button and locking your aim in place while you dodge bullets, usually on one of the edges of the screen. This keeps bullets from being wasted fired in the wrong direction as you move around.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use your gold! Don't save it forever. All of the upgrades are worthwhile, though weapons are the most important.
