How to Bid on Police Auctions
Have you ever thought of going to a police auction. You can find deals there on most anything that you can think of, from bikes to cars, from fossils to one of a kind jewelry, toys, currency, sport memorabilia, and even taxidermy.

In your local city you can find police auctions by going to your cities police website. They will have a calendar of when their next auction will be. Sometimes you can sign up for a mailing list. The better the auction the more people there will be and you will want to get there early. If it is a car auction, then you usually have several days to look at the cars before the auction.

You go to the auction and you are able to look at everything that is there before the auction. Make sure you write down the box number that you are interested in, so you will be prepared when it comes up. Note, that sometimes that don't sell individual items, but a lot of similar items in one box

Write down how much you are willing to pay for the item, but don't go over that price. Sometimes you can get caught up in the auction and continue to bid on it so that you can outbid the other person. This is called auction fever and two people can do this and ultimately pay way over the worth of the item, because they got carried away. Knowing this and putting a price down will help you from over bidding.

4
When the auction begins, you will either all be gathered around the area or they will have chairs for you to sit on. As the item comes up, just wave your hand and the auctioneer will see you and know you are bidding on it.
-
5
If you win the item then you can go to the table and pay for it and pick it up then or wait till after the auction. Most people don't hang around after their lot number comes up, if they are not interested in anything else.

Also, another fun thing to do is go to police auctions online. I have posted two links below, propertyroom.com and policeauctions.com and you will be amazed at all the different kinds of things they have listed. Have fun!
