Step 1
Protect your workspace with paper. Select a piece of 9 by 12 construction paper in an Easter color such as yellow. Fold it in half along the long end.
-
Step 2
Draw a simple egg shape on a green piece of construction paper. If you can't easily draw an egg shape on your own, check a clip art site for one you can download and print out. Ensure that the Easter egg is large enough to cover about half of the front of the Easter greeting card. Cut the egg out.
-
Step 3
Place the Easter egg shape over the top of a pink piece of construction paper. Trace around the Easter egg shape and cut it out. Repeat with two other contrasting spring colors, such as purple and blue. Encourage your kids to trace the egg shapes themselves.
-
Step 4
Cut the additional Easter egg shapes in a zig-zag pattern. Make decorative shapes for the top, center and bottom of the Easter egg. Use a glue stick to attach the decorative shapes to the egg base you created in step 2. This is another part of the card craft project your kids could probably do on their own.
-
Step 5
Apply the glue stick to the back of the Easter egg and attach it to the front of the Easter greeting card. Write a greeting such as "Happy Easter" on the front of the card using a brightly colored permanent marker. Write your personal Easter message inside the card. If possible, include a meaningful object, such as picture of your child with the Easter bunny.
