Step 1
Buy and experiment with makeup. Learn about it with videos, online tutorials, books etc. Ask someone to try some out on you. Work at a cosmetics counter at a store and get free samples of the makeup that they sell to clients who come to the store. Bulid up a list of cilents slowly one by one after a while. Work in cinema, threatre, TV, videos, weddings etc slowly. Go to a makeup artist school or borrow a DVD or book about makeup from your local library. Look at videos about makeup on YouTube.

Step 2
Check your makeup in the mirror. Always examine yourselves througholy during and after applying makeup. Ask yourself do you actually look good with the makeup. If the answer is no be sure you have a supply of makeup wipes nearby so that you can take the makeup off easily. Keep the makeup on if the answer is yes though. Never do the wrong things and create colour combinations that actually match and suit your skin tone. Know about makeup and the science behind it as well.

Step 3
Be sure to be nice to all of your clients. Dont be nasty and rude to them. Dont spread gossip at all about them as well. A client may tell you about her private life. You will get cilents from all walks of life and you need to know just how to deal with them in the right way. Be tactful and wise and diplomatic when it comes to them kind of people though. Keep your stuff clean and be honest always. Be willing to experiment with makeup though. Throw any makeup away when its past it due by date. That goes for dirty brushes too.

Try out different looks and styles of makeup with your clients. Dont be a scaredy cat when it comes to makeup though. You should be a daring person and a open minded one with makeup.
