Things You'll Need:
- natural beeswax
- food grater
- small wide mouthscrew top jar & lid
- turpentine
- large bowl
- hot water
-
Step 1
Grate 2 oz of natural beeswax using a food grater. If the wax is too hard to grate, warm it up a little by microwaving it on low for a few seconds.
-
Step 2
Put the grated beeswax inside the jar and pour 5 oz of turpentine (do NOT use a turpentine substitute) over the beeswax.
Place the lid loosely on the jar. -
Step 3
Place the jar (with the loose lid) inside your large bowl. Pour very hot water, slowly, into the bowl. You want to make sure you are giving the jar time to heat up, so it doesn't bust. The hot water will melt the beeswax. Tighten the lid after the wax has melted and shake the jar to form a paste. Let cool.
-
Step 4
When you are ready to use the wax, dip a cloth into the jar and polish the furniture. If the wax becomes too hard, place the jar in warm water for a few minutes.
