Things You'll Need:
- 1 quart pyrex with lid
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Measuring Device
- Spices/Seasonings of your preference
- Jar of Pasta Sauce or Margarine
- Microwave Oven
- Oven Mitt/Pot Holders
-
Step 1
First, place approximately 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in the bottom of the 1 quart Pyrex or microwave safe dish.
Then add in your seasonings for example I use : A teaspoon of Onion Powder and Garlic Powder.
Add your choices of seasonings or spices but, if you are on a lower sodium diet at least use sea salt if you're going to add any salt. -
Step 2
Add your choice of pasta for this recipe I used a Rotini noodle made by a brand I have chosen not to use but, you have seen the commercials on television.
I pour the noodles about half way up the 1 qt. Pyrex dish and then add the water to cover just above the level of noodles. -
Step 3
Cover then place into the microwave oven and set between approximately 5-10 minutes depending on how well cooked or soft you prefer your noodles to be. I cook mine about 5-6 minutes makes them a little chewy but cooked thoroughly through.
The cooking time will of course vary by microwave so use the times only as a recommendation and not an exact time.
If your microwave has an issue with boiling water you may want to put a microwave safe catch pan under the Pyrex to avoid water boiling over into your microwave oven. -
Step 4
When you take out be careful as they Pyrex will be hot and very steaming if your noodles got a good bowl. Drain your noodles completely or leave a small amount of water if you prefer your sauce watery.
After draining you will then add your favorite sauce or margarine if you prefer. If you use margarine go lightly as many have the bad fats in them and are not good for your cholesterol.
Stir your noodles gently but, thoroughly to mix the sauce and noodles completely.

on 3/22/2009 Keep in mind depending on your microwave the time may take longer and you may need to add more water. My dish does boil most of the water out but, leaves my pasta the way I like it. There is a dish out there for making pasta I have seen in an infomercial.
