Loose Teas

Don’t be afraid to brew a pot of loose tea. Even life long tea lovers sometimes feel intimidated by brewing loose tea. The quality of loose tea is much better - so just give it a try. Here is how:

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your favorite loose tea.
  • A clean tea kettle.
  • Your favorite tea pot.
  • Fresh water.
  • Stove top.
  1. Step 1

Fill a clean kettle with freshly drawn cold water. Put the kettle on to boil.

  2. Step 2

Warm the teapot with hot water. Swirl hot water in the teapot and pour it out. This will keep your tea hot longer.

  3. Step 3

Measure a level teaspoon of tea for each cup of water into a tea filter, the easiest being a disposable filter. Place your filter filled with tea into the empty warmed teapot.

  4. Step 4

Just when water comes to a rolling boil, pour over the tea. For green and white teas don't let the water get to boiling or you may scorch the tea.

  5. Step 5

Cover and steep to taste: Black tea 3 to 5 minutes. Oolong tea up to 5 minutes. White and Green teas 2 minutes.

  6. Step 6

Relax and enjoy a perfect cup of tea!
