Make a Fairy Garden
Make a Fairy Garden

Fairies are all around us. They are in a sunset and a flower, a shining star or a murky puddle. Fairies are God's tiniest angels and all it takes to see them are a little faith. Oh, a fairy garden helps too. Fairy gardens are special places that a human creates for a fairy. Sometimes you can glimpse a real fairy garden, a place where fairies live, but not often, so it is useful to make your own.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a plant safe container
  • potting soil
  • some seeds (try to choose flowers and herbs that you can keep small)
  • something representative of each element
  • faux plants
  1. Step 1

A fairy garden should include all of the fairy elements in someway. There should also be a place for the fairies to relax and of course, a fairy circle. Fairies circles are portals which help fairies zip from one place to the next instantly. Fairy portals, like fairies, come in many sizes and are usually made out of mushrooms. People must be careful never to step inside a fairy circle, you never know where, or when, you might end up.

  2. Step 2

Choose your container; this can be anything you like, from a shoe to an old dish to a plain old garden pot. Fill it up with soil and water the soil.

  3. Step 3

Plan your garden out. Make sure you know where everything is going to go. Try using circles in your design (they're incredibly magical). Draw in your plants as well as any tiny furniture and decorative elements you might have.

  4. Step 4

Put in your faux plants and decorations. Faux plants/flowers will stay alive forever and keep fairies pleased while the new plants are growing or dieing. Make sure to set them in well so that they won't be dislodged. Next insert your water feature.

  5. Step 5

Plant your seeds according to their packaging directions. Water your plants!

  6. Step 6

Put your fairy garden in a place frequented by fairies, gardens, ponds, tree hollows, all are good locations.

  7. Step 7

Once your fairy garden is complete, make sure to take good care of it. Even if you never actually see the fairies with your eyes, you can know that they use and appreciate your fairy garden. As a show of thanks you will probably have more than one little fairy taking on the extra job of watching over and keeping you safe

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you don't neglect any fairy element (earth, air, water, fire (try using dry sticks for the fairies to burn or a bench made of matchsticks) and celestial)
  • Water your garden with a water spritzer to avoid washing away your seeds.
  • It may or may not be offensive to the fairies in your area to put in statuettes of fairies. Start with one as a foray or offer them milk as a peace offering.
