How to Remove a Stubborn Wall Border

It seemed like putting up that cute wallpaper border a few years back was a great idea. But now you are sick of it and want it gone. But that border is stubborn and doesn't want to come off the wall. It may seem impossible to remove it but removing a stubborn wall border can be made easier if you have the right tools.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• water
• vinegar
• wallpaper scoring tool
• sponge
• putty knife
• spray bottle
• bucket

   Wallpaper Scoring Tool

   Use a wallpaper scoring tool on the portions of the wallpaper border you would like to remove. Move the scoring tool in a circular motion over the entire area.

2. When you are done scoring the wallpaper border use a spray bottle filled with half water and half white vinegar to spray the border. Spray the entire border. Use a damp sponge and rub the border allowing the water and vinegar to soak into the border. Allow the water and vinegar mixture to sit for about 15 minutes.

   Putty Knife

   Now use your putty knife to scrape the wallpaper border off the wall. The border may be stubborn and difficult to remove so you will have to use some elbow grease to remove it.

4. It may take several times to remove the border. After you scrape away all of the border that you can reapply the water and vinegar mixture and allow it to soak. Repeat steps two and three as necessary to remove all of the wallpaper border.
