Things You'll Need:
- Ovulation Predictor Kit
- Basal Body Thermometer (BBT)
-
Step 1
Track your monthly cycles for accurate timing
Know when you are fertile. Timing is everything, you need to plan on having sex when you are fertile.
Track your fertile cycle:
* Buy an ovulation predictor kit and follow the directions. When you get a nice dark positive that's the green light to try and conceive your baby.
* Buy an Basal Body thermometer and start taking your temperature every morning before you get out of bed. Graph your results and you will notice a pattern form. Your temp will spike when ovulation is happening (see resources box below). -
Step 2
Get Healthy
* Begin taking a prenatal or multi vitamin now before you get pregnant, be sure the vitamin contains folic acid.
* Avoid alcohol.
* Eat a healthy diet. Being underweight or eating a extremely low calorie diet can mess up your monthly cycle. Get in the routine of eating healthy, whole foods and eliminate the junk. -
Step 3
Stop Using Lube
Over the counter lubes are not sperm friendly, they actually kill or impair the mobility of sperm and should be avoided during your fertile period. Preseed is the only sperm friendly lube on the market but it is expensive!
Another lube options is vegetable oil. You probably have some in your kitchen. Use vegetable oil sparingly a little goes a long way.
Saliva shouldn’t be used during fertile times since its not sperm friendly.
