The Field Museum is one of the largest museums in Chicago and would take days to completely explore. In 2009, the Field Museum is offering free admission on the second Monday of every month, as well as on their scheduled free admission days [see Resources].

Step 2
The Shedd Aquarium is classic Chicago favorite. With hundreds of diverse species of aquatic life and daily live attractions, the Shedd is a must-see for anyone visiting Chicago. In 2009, the Shedd Aquarium is offering free admission from June 14 to June 19 and October 4 to October 9. In September, October and November, most Mondays and Tuesdays are free.

Step 3
The Adler Planetarium is world famous observatory located right on Lake Michigan that offers a wide array of events, attractions and exhibits to awe and educate. In 2009, the Adler Planetarium has a particularly random free admission schedule [see Resources for a direct link].

Step 4
If you are planning a visit to Chicago, you can schedule around the free days, or purchase a Chicago City Pass for $59 ($49 for kids). This pass is good for 9 days and will get you into The Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, The Museum of Science and Industry and the Hancock Observatory (or Sears Tower Skydeck).
