Green & festive these shamrock shaped toasts are delicious and super easy to make. Great for Saint Patrick's day parties, dinners or any time you want to add a little Irish accent to your table. Use white sliced bread or try fresh Italian or French bread for a more hearty flavor. Just make sure the bread is large enough for your cookie cutter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 7oz jar of pesto sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 loaf white or Italian bread sliced.
  • Shamrock shaped cookie cutter
  1. Step 1

Lay bread slice flat and use a shamrock shaped cookie cutter to cut out shape. Continue until you've cut the entire loaf.

  2. Step 2

Toast in a conventional or toaster oven.

  3. Step 3

Spread each shamrock toast with pesto sauce and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

  4. Step 4

Place toast pieces on a cookie sheet and run quickly under the broiler just until cheese is melted.

  5. Step 5

    * You can make your own pesto sauce by combining 1 cup fresh basil, 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup walnuts or pinenuts, 1/4 cup grated paremsan cheese and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a blender or food processor until smooth.
