Step by Step directions on how to make Organic Baked Ziti, right down to what to buy

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Organic Valley Mozzarella Cheese (6-12 oz)
  • 1/2 lb of Lean Turkey or Turkey Tofu
  • Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Rotini
  • Tin baking pan
  • Organic Pam Spray
  • Sugar
  • Italian seasoning
  • Skillet
  • Boiling Pot
  1. Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees. Fill your boiling pot halfway with water and let it heat. Heat another burner with medium heat and using your skillet, cook your lean turkey or tofu. Season your turkey or tofu with Italian seasoning and sprinkle a table spoon of sugar over it then let simmer until your meat or tofu turns a light gray.

  2. Step 2

Spray tin baking pan with Organic Pam Cooking Spray with at least two coats (five minutes between each coat) By this time your water should be boiling, if it is then add whole wheat pasta to the boiling water and stir.

  3. Step 3

Remove meat or tofu from the skillet and place in a bowl lined with a napkin. This will drain excess cooking spray and other liquids generated from cooking. Once your noodles are soft, remove from heat and drain. *Turn off unused burners*

  4. Step 4

In a mixing bowl add Organic pasta sauce, drained pasta, meat/tofu and shredded mozzarella cheese and mix. After mixing, place it in your tin baking pan evenly. Top with cheese and place in pre-heated oven for twenty minutes. Allow 5-10 more minutes of baking time depending on how large your dish is. After allocated time, remove from stove and placed on a cooling sheet. Wait five minutes and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • A good cook is a clean cook. Remember to throw away empty packaging and wipe up messes as the occur.
  • Keep all pot handles inward to reduce the change of knocking it over or a child grabbing onto them.
  • Do not over-season meat or tofu, this is very easy to do. Simmering will allow the flavor to be cooked in.
  • Do not eat right after your dish is pulled from the oven. You don't want to burn your tongue or the tongue of your loved ones.
