Changing a cracked samsung soul LCD could be a daunting task and an expensive one if sent to a repair shop. Here is a little tutorial on how to replace a cracked samsung soul LCD screen if you have purchased a new one.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Replacement Genuine LCD
  • Philips Screw Driver Size -0
  • Cutter or blade
  1. Step 1

Replacing an LCD is only done if the one currently installed is not functioning properly. If you could still salvage some life out of it then I recommend you keep it.

  2. Step 2

First, you need to take all accessories off of the phone like memory cards(micro SD or SD cards), sim cards, battery and the back cover as well.

  3. Step 3

At the bottom of the back side, take off the plastic sticker using a blade and it will reveal one of the five screws located at the back of your Samsung u900 soul cellphone. All four have been exposed already so you should see all five screws after you remove the plastic sticker.

  4. Step 4

Remove the battery compartement and take off the ribbon connector by lifting it up. It is located at the bottom left corner opposite the sim card slot.

  5. Step 5

Another ribbon connector will be spotted at the circuit board, lift this up together with the mother board and wiggle it slightly to take it off.

  6. Step 6

You will see 6 new screws there, take them all off and slide the phone going downwards. You will now have detached the slider from the main phone.

  7. Step 7

At the main phone you will see 4 more screws there, take if off then Lift the metal part away from the body of the phone. Slide the ribbon through the gap then completely detach the metal part you just unscrewed.

  8. Step 8

Remove the black tape at the bottom left corner and it will reveal two more ribbons. This two are different from the previous ones you just took off. The brown one you need to flick back up to release it.

  9. Step 9

Lift the circuit board in an upwards direction to release it.

  10. Step 10

Carefully take off the LCD using a smooth edged object like that of a credit card. remove the ribbons attached to the back of the old LCD and reattach them to the new one.

  11. Step 11

For reassembly, just reverse the whole procedure.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have a steady hand.
  • Use your manual to identify the parts.
  • Careful with the ribbons.
