Do you need to give your dog medication and he keeps spitting it out? This article will help you give your dog a pill or tablet in five easy steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Tongue compressor or plastic knife
  1. Step 1

Take the tongue compressor and put a dollop of peanut butter on one end. If you are using the plastic knife, put the peanut butter on the handle end (not the sharp end).

  2. Step 2

Take the pill or tablet that your dog needs to take and push it into the peanut butter.

  3. Step 3

Show your dog the peanut butter and let him smell it so he knows you are giving him a treat.

  4. Step 4

Open your dogs mouth and insert the tongue compressor or knife handle and spread the peanut butter on the roof of his mouth. He will let you do this because dogs love peanut butter.

  5. Step 5

That's it! Your dog will do the rest. When he swallows the peanut butter he will swallow the tablet with it and not even know it!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make your dog think the pill is a treat.
  • Do not use the sharp end of the plastic knife!
  • Don't let your dog lick the peanut butter off since he might feel the pill and avoid it.
