Things You'll Need:
- clean eye
- eyeshadows
- eyeliners
- eye base (Urban Decay Primer Potion OR Laura Mercier Eye Basics OR MAC Paint Pot)
-
Step 1
laura mercier eye basicsGO GET IT:
To keep your eyes looking great all day, you first need to get some eye primer. There are different types of primers out there. Some are Urban Decay Primer Potion, Laura Mercier Eye Basics, MAC's Paint Pot and Too Faced Shadow Insurance. To order some of these online you can go towards the bottom resource section of the article and click on the links. -
Step 2
SO USE IT:
Once you have your eye primer, go ahead and use it. Start with a clean face before you apply any makeup. You can apply the eye primer on your eyelid up to your eyebrow. Also apply a bit underneath where you will apply eye liner. Use your finger to blend the product. You don't need to apply a thick layer. A thin layer will do. The primer potion dries pretty quickly. -
Step 3
OOH, PRETTY:
Now you can apply your regular eye shadow make-up and eye liner. You'll notice right away that it'll stay in place.
Tip:
Use a cotton swab to clean up around the edges of the eye makeup if you need to. -
Step 4
I'M STILL PRETTY:
After wearing your make-up for several hours you'll notice that you still have the eye shadow and liner in place like if you just put it on. There are no creases, no smudges, no smears. It's great. -
Step 5
WATCH AND LEARN:
If you had stopped using eye shadows because of the creasing problem and you're a little rusty in putting eye makeup then I suggest watching someone do it. Youtube.com has many eye makeup tutorials. Just watch to see how they apply make-up and see if anybody notices your new eye change.

on 3/22/2009 Yes, I do want to prevent my eye make-up from creasing and smearing. That's why I never wear eye make-up. Thanks for the excellent advice. I didn't know about primer. 5*
