Step 1
If you have cabinets and doors that have loose hinges. There could be a couple of reasons why they are loose. The hole that the screws go into the door frame that holds the doors in place could be stripped and the screw's won't fit.Don't put bigger screws. Here is a way to repair doors that have this problem.
-
Step 2
You might need to replace the hinges or just repair the screw holes. You need to grab the end of the cabinet door where you open it up,move it up and down, looking at the hinges for loose play.If there is loose play where the screws go.Then those holes need to be fixed for the door to properly shut.
-
Step 3
Once you have found the stripped screw holes, you undo the hinges and and take the door off.Find a scrap piece of wood and shave off small pieces of wood that will fit in those holes. To shave off a small piece of wood you would use a small knife.Hold the piece of wood on top, near the back and shave the piece of wood off in the front going down with the knife. This way you will not get cut.

Step 4
After you shaved off the pieces of wood put those tiny pieces of wood in those holes. Then align the cabinet door and hinges, and screw the door(s) hinges back. The screws should have a nice tight fit when reinstalled. If you need to adjust the door so it hits the magnet or door latch.Just unscrew the hinges a little and lift up or push down the door a little for adjustment.Hold the door in that spot and screw the screws tight again.
