Take a CPR Class

Often, an emergency can strike anyone at any time, without warning, and when they do, these unfortunate circumstances leave even the most level headed individuals at a loss for which action to take. Do you know what to do in the event of an emergency? Enrolling in a CPR or First Aid Certification class can help ensure that you have the knowledge expertise and skills that are required to know the correct actions to take when needed. If you are looking for a CPR class in your local area, this article will give you some tips on where to find a certification class in Phoenix, and how to enroll in it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

The first step you need to take to enroll in a CPR class is to look in your local telephone directory under CPR Certification or Educational Institutions to find a place that offers the classes that you need. When looking to enroll in a CPR class in Phoenix, Arizona, you will notice that there are actually many CPR classes that are available for you to choose from. There are also a variety of different organizations that are available to provide a CPR certification class, such as American Heart or the American Red Cross. Call several of these places to find out where they are located, the cost of their classes and which certification you will receive if you attend one of their classes. Take notes, and compare the information that you get from these preliminary phone calls.

  2. Step 2

Another way to enroll in a CPR class is to go down to your local American Red Cross chapter, and sign up to take a CPR Class in person. To enroll, you will need to schedule a class date, and provide the Red Cross with your first and last name and payment for the class. They usually last all day, and you will receive your certification at the end of class. There are other CPR certification providers that you may consider, such as the American Heart Association or Heart Savers who provide CPR and First aid certification in your home or office. This is great for people who want to earn their certification, but have difficulty scheduling time off. Some places may offer weekend and evening classes for your convenience.

  3. Step 3

If you didn't find the class that you were looking for by calling local CPR class providers, and a trip to the local American Red Cross did not yield results, try doing a search on the internet for your classes. Many certification classes that have web sites have an online class enrollment page. If so, simply log on to the web site, input your information and pay for your class online with your credit card. Then, attend your class. Before you commit to a class, be sure that the certification you will receive matches the certification that you require. Some employers will only accept CPR certifications from certain organizations.
