How to Discover Your Destiny

I challenge you to begin discovering your destiny today through God's Word. Every person on earth was created for a specific and unique reason. However, it is up to each of us to seek God and ask him to unlock the mystery behind our existence.

Discovering your destiny empowers you to live your best life ever. Consequently, it is only when we accept and walk in God's purpose for our lives that we have dominion and power. True wholeness, joy, peace and prosperity is rooted in knowing who you are in Christ Jesus. I believe that destiny calls out to each of us in a distinct way. Maybe you have an urge to start a business, take a mission trip to a remote location, or go back to school. These are just a few examples of how your destiny may be calling you, but the real question is; will you pick up the phone?

Step 1

The most important place to begin your search for purpose is in the Word of God. There are no shortcuts or easy solutions. Reading the bible helps you discover your identity in Jesus Christ. The bible is God's manual to the believer. By reading God's word, you will begin to understand God's plan for eternity and the role you play in establishing that plan.
Step 2

Bombard heaven with your prayers. Earnestly seek God asking him to reveal the reason for your existence. The mere fact that you are alive today indicates that you have are apart of God's design.
Step 3

Make a list of the things you are passionate about. Sometimes we think that our destiny is this far reaching star when in actuality it is right in front of us.
Step 4

Survey your abilities and talents. What makes you unique? What activities bring you joy? What are the areas you excel in? List your award winning attributes.
Step 5

Ask those closest to you to identify your best qualities. If you are really adventurous, ask for help in discovering your destiny. Sometimes those closest to us have more insight into our destiny than we do. However, let me caution you. This is not a 100 % fireproof method but, it will assist you in thinking about your destiny.
Step 6

Surround yourself with people who are actively pursuing their destiny. Even if you have not figured out what your destiny is, it helps to surround yourself by people who have. It is also equally important to surrounded by people who are passionate about both their destiny, as well as your destiny. In my experience both passion and complacency are contagious. Passion inspires you to reach beyond the barriers of limitation while complacency seeks to wrestle the life out of your dreams. Please note, complacency will never challenge you to go beyond the here and now but, you must fight the urge to just get-by.
Step 7

Start moving in the direction of your destiny. One sure way to discover your destiny is by doing what you have a desire to do. Many times people stumble upon their calling as they are obeying God in other areas of their life. Be a proactive participant in your life by allowing God to order your footsteps everyday.
Step 8

Pay close attention to the road signs along the way. God has a unique way of speaking to each of us. Unfortunately most people are to busy to listen.
