Writing a skit for Young Life Club can be a challenge. Here are a few suggestions for making up a funny skit on the fly, even if you are not the most creative person in the world.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  1. Step 1

Raid your costume closet or the local goodwill, and find stuff to create at least one ridiculous looking character.

  2. Step 2

Think about things that would be funny to your teens, as you begin to write.

  3. Step 3

Start your skit with music that introduces the theme of your skit, or most ridiculous character. Remeber not every line needs to be funny. Start with a general audience greeting to get through the first 20 seconds of kids laughing at the costumes.

  4. Step 4

I like the 1-2-joke, or a 1-2-3-joke. For example, the first line can be a question, the second line can be a funny answer, if there is a third line it should be slightly funnier than the first, then the joke should be the funniest of them all.

  5. Step 5

Build towards a really funny joke, or situation to end with. Cue music and exit stage left.

  6. Step 6

Save this document. Next time you need a quick skit, use these same characters and change the theme, then based on your character personalities vary your questions and answers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use contrasting character personalities to highlight the ridiculous person.
