Save Money on Phone, Internet and Cable!

Looking to save some money each month? Consider some easy changes to make to your Phone and Cell Phone Services, Internet and Cable TV to put extra money in your pocket. Maybe you have lost a job or have had your hours at work cut back or whatever your reason. These are simple ways to save a few dollars on these bills.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Bundle your services together! For around $100 a month you can get your cable tv, internet and phone, with long distance, combined into one service and bill. Doing this saved us over $30 a month! And you will receive just one bill for these services as opposed to being billed separately for each. Also, look into electronic bill payment for this service with your bank to save the postage.

  2. Step 2

Switch to a pre-paid cell phone! If you don't use your cell phone a lot this may be the way to go for you. Compare what what you pay for your cell phone plan and your land line. We realized we were using the land line more and the cell phone was more for peace of mind when driving. Canceling our cell phone plan when the contract was up and going to a pre-paid plan was the right move for us. Our old cell phone was $75 a month and with the pre-paid we get 3 months of service for $30 or $10 a month!

  3. Step 3

Pare down your cell phone plan. Eliminating all the costly extra's like internet and texting can save you money each month. Look at how many minutes you are using and if it seems like you are way below the minutes each money, switch to a cheaper plan with less minutes.

  4. Step 4

If you seem to exclusively be using your cell phone and rarely use your land line, eliminate the land line and save over $30 a month. Make sure the cell phone plan you are using has enough minutes at an affordable rate.

  5. Step 5

Cut back on all the extra's on your cable service. The extra's like HD and premium channels add to your monthly bill. Go back to just the basic cable and head to the library to borrow DVD's instead of renting or pay per view.

  6. Step 6

If you are really in a pinch financially, eliminate your internet service. You can log on for free at the library and while there don't forget to borrow a few DVD's!
