Use a Mr. Coffee Capaccino Maker

There is nothing quite as relaxing as a piping hot cappuccino. There are many retail establishments that can satisfy your cappuccino desires, however, making it yourself is a cost effective way to fulfill this need. There are a multitude of cappuccino machines on the market today, with prices running upwards of $500. Mr. Coffee makes a less expensive machine that perfectly fits the needs of the average weekend barista. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Add water to water reservoir. For a two-cup cappuccino (one serving), add four cups of water as marked on the glass coffee decanter. This will give you enough water to brew coffee and steam milk.

    • 2
      Coffee basket and scoop

Put desired amount of coffee into the coffee basket and lock basket in place on machine. The inside of the basket has lines indicating the amount of coffee to add for either a two- or four-cup cappuccino (one or two servings).

    • 3

Turn machine to the "brew" setting and allow the desired amount of coffee to brew into the glass coffee decanter.

    • 4

Add flavored syrup to coffee cups. Refer to syrup directions for measurements.

    • 5
      Frothing pitcher

Pour about one cup of 2 percent or skim milk into stainless steel frothing pitcher.

    • 6

Put frothing arm into milk until tip is just covered. Turn machine to "steam" position and allow milk to froth to desired consistency.

    • 7

Pour coffee and steamed milk into coffee cup. Use a spoon to hold the froth back until all milk is poured. Top the cup with the froth.

Tips & Warnings

  • To the speed frothing process, heat milk in microwave before putting it into frothing pitcher. Use a candy thermometer in milk for a perfect frothing temperature of 120 degrees F. If desired, top your cappuccino with whipping cream.

  • Be sure to release steam pressure, by turning machine to steam setting and allowing it to run out before opening water reservoir valve. Steam will come out of frothing arm (place frothing pitcher over arm to keep from making a mess). Failure to do so could result in serious steam burns.
