How to Design Body Lotion
Designing your own body lotion is a good choice for health and economic reasons. There are so many chemicals in the expensive store-brand body lotions that they can actually dry skin out with continued use. Save money and nourish your skin by designing your own lotion for your face and body. If more skin-healing and moisturizing power is needed, add pure vitamin E oil to this recipe. Does this Spark an idea?

How to Design Body Lotion
-
1
Gather virgin olive oil, stearic acid powder, glycerin, pure water, baking soda and two oven-safe glass measuring devices. Fill one of the measuring devices with ¼ cup olive oil and ¼ cup stearic acid powder.
-
2
Fill a pot halfway with water, let it come to a near boil and place the measuring device in it. The heat will completely dissolve the powder in the oil.
-
-
3
Mix 2 tbsp. glycerin and ½ tsp. baking soda in ½ cup pure water. Heat this in a microwave oven for approximately 1 1/2 minutes so the solution is hot but not boiling.
-
4
Pour the two liquids together in a large mixing bowl. Foam will appear for a few minutes. Once the foam calms down, take an electric mixer and blend all ingredients together for a few minutes until the lotion is smooth. Let cool before use.
-
5
Smooth over face and body as needed. This works great as a lotion under foundation or as a night cream.
